JJ Redick Signs 3-Year, $19.69 Million Contract with Orlando Magic
Deal Includes $500,000 Signing Bonus, $19.69 Million Guaranteed
Magic Acquire Guard with Championship Experience
JJ Redick has agreed to a 3-year, $19.69 million contract with the Orlando Magic, sources tell ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski. The deal includes a $500,000 signing bonus and $19.69 million guaranteed. Redick is a veteran guard who has played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Los Angeles Clippers, Philadelphia 76ers, and New Orleans Pelicans. He has averaged 12.8 points per game during his career and has shot 44.8% from the field. Redick is a valuable addition to the Magic, who are looking to compete for a playoff berth this season. He is a sharpshooter who can provide scoring and space the floor for Orlando's other players. The Magic are coming off a disappointing season in which they finished 22-60. However, they have made some significant changes to their roster this offseason, including the addition of Redick and fellow veteran guard Evan Fournier. With Redick and Fournier in the fold, the Magic have a solid foundation to build on this season. They will be looking to make a run at the playoffs and compete for their first NBA championship since 2009.
